17/09/2013 - The king has returned
Wow, it's been a lot longer than I'd intended. Normally I come back to this place with no progress whatsoever, show some old screenshots and pass them off as new ones, and then go back into hiding for the next few months before doing it all over again. Not this time, however.
Yesterday I picked up Aspiria again. Yesterday I swore, to myself and anybody around me, that Aspiria was going to be made. I forced myself to code a menu that had been on my to-do list for months. I made myself sit until I had fixed a bug I noticed in obtaining items. And I enjoyed it. It all seems so clear and interesting again, like I just remembered why I loved building this game so much.
The progress I've made in the last 12 hours isn't a huge amount; the game is still an unplayable mess and coding that used to make sense now looks like gibberish. I'm relearning, though, and I'll be aiming to keep progress consistent. Slow, maybe, but I want to be pumping new features and content in all the time.
This time, I promise, I will finish this project.
